Our Student Council is officially kicking off a Hat Drive to support local cancer patients! We are collecting brand-new hats to provide comfort and warmth to those undergoing treatment at nearby facilities.

🎁 THE PRIZE: Every student who donates a new, unused hat will get to participate in a FREE HAT DAY at school on February 6th! Wear your favorite cap to show your support for the cause!

The 1st Phase Challenge:

Submit a short essay. All you have to do is:

Identify a problem in our community.
Propose a solution.
Explain how you’d get local leaders to help.
Connect it to our nation’s founding principles.
What’s in it for you? 🏆

Our local Bossier Parish winners will take home:

1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $250
3rd Place: $125
Think bigger: State finalists can earn up to $1,000, and national winners are eligible for awards up to $100,000! 💸

🏆 Get Ready for the BIS Super Seven Fitness Games!
We are so excited to announce a thrilling new event for our 5th graders! Our students have been working hard and practicing their skills in PE, and now it’s time to see that hard work pay off.

Throughout January, students will compete in the Preliminaries across seven challenges: 🏃‍♂️ 50-Yard Dash & 600-Yard Run 💪 Pull-Ups & Curl-Ups ⚡ Shuttle Run 📏 Standing Long Jump & Sit and Reach

The Road to the Championship:
February 10th @ 3:30 PM: The top 24 boys and 24 girls will face off at the BIS 5th Grade School Championship Fitness Meet.
March 4, 2026 @ Airline High School: The top two finishers from our school will advance to the Bossier Parish Elementary Fitness Meet.
April 18th: Winners from the district level head to Alexandria for the State Championship, where they’ll compete for the Governor’s Cup and championship rings!

We can’t wait to see who will represent BIS! Good luck to all our 5th-grade athletes! 🏅✨
